Bobby , I couldn't be more thrilled , my old High School / Grade School dear friend Judy Graham has made the decision to come join us all for the weekend.

This is a "fun memory."  Judy and I would cruise the Arizona side of the River, on our way to school, checking out the Good-Looking Calif. Guys, hoping they would join us for lunch at the A & W or Dairy Queen, and then if Daddy would approve of them I might even get to catch a "ski ride" with them before I had to work on "the gas dock, or help my Mom in the hamburger stand, or get ready for the Sat. Night Twist Contest And Steak Cook out that you cooked your self.

Foxes Pier point Landing was a fun place to be on a Sat. Night.  If Daddy had over 300 on the Dock at any one time he would have the bouncer "blow his whistle," you had to get OFF or be thrown in the river, because he had to get the bilge pumps out. Ha ha  I was allowed to be in the Twist Contest, but as soon as it was over I was issued "off the dock" because I was only 16-17 yrs. old. Living up the River was wonderful, quiet, still, peaceful in the mornings, walking out to the bus stop. But you could hear from far away the First Water Skier, coming to the dock for one of my Moms famous "skiers breakfast". It was amazing all these tourist would come every morning get lots of theses sandwiches, and then ski off the dock, with their sandwich in their mouths. Ha ha.

My folks Bob & Shirley Barnes moved us to Parker when I was in the last month of 6th grade. I was not to thrilled about that back then. My Father had sold a Lumber Yard, and Construction Co. in Vista Calif. {because he wanted to raise His Family in a nice place away from busy Calif.} I am so glad NOW that he did. Diane, Virginia and I all lost our folks about 10-11 yrs. ago. But our memories of "Foxes, Sports Valley & The Road Runner we will forever treasure".  I do wish my sisters were going to attend but they are both busy at that time.

I recently retired from a beautiful High end Retirement home where I was the only hairdresser there. My average client was 82-92 yrs. young. Nicolas Cage's uncle 98 yrs young always likes to dance with us, what a hoot. It really was my ministry, I adored them all, and it was my "joy" to get to encourage them or pray with them when their own children pass away Before Them. I tell you this because just recently I was asked to go back for a "Rock & Roll Party" there just 2 weeks ago. The activity director is named Carolyn also and she had me wear a old "Prom Dress" and her and I danced up a storm for all "my Little people", as I call them. They enjoyed Root Beer Floats, and sang along with the band to the "oldies but goodies". These memories are all special to me. Looking forward to the Parker High School Reunion, see you there.  Has any one heard if Nancy Gallagher {class of 67'} will be attending?

My favorite Teacher at Parker High was Grace Woodford--She was my English teacher. I was one of the poorer girls in school. I had only the things that I had to have. I always felt that I couldn't compete with the girls that had everything. I also felt like I was ugly. She told me that beauty is as beauty does. As long as your cloths were clean and neat, you were a beauty. I was inspired by her teaching also. I did well in her class.  Another favorite was Mr. Bullard-- typing. He was rough on me as I cheated and looked at the keys. A few threats and I learned to be a good student. I left being able to type about 100 words per minute. I adored him as a great
teacher.

George Gutierrez-- Spanish--I was slow in learning but due to his patience I learned. Also Lonnie's Mother Virginia, bless her heart helped me. I know there were times that Mr. Gutierrez wanted to boot my butt out of the door, he finally taught me Spanish.

Jose Bernal--Leather shop. What a nice person as well as a fine teacher.

Anne Witzleben--Business--Shorthand. She taught you well. She could be rough but fair. I left there doing about 100-125 words per minute. I loved shorthand and still can do some to this day.

Howard Ridgeway--Science--Also my neighbor. He was a fine teacher also. I don't like science but to this day I still do well with things pertaining to science. Mr. Ridgeway also taught me to swim.

These are the ones I remember the best. I know there were more but can't remember. I know I had Donna Maddox as a teacher, Mrs. Parrish and a few more. I think we had a great bunch of teachers while I was in high school. I wish I had told them that at the time or gone back home to let them know. Where ever they are today, I hope they know what a difference they made in my school years.
